It’s that time of year again. The time where all of our resolutions and good intentions to eat better go out the window. Its Super Bowl time. Sure, there are some people out there that like to watch the game, but for a lot of us it is all about the food! According to Shape magazine, Super Bowl Sunday is the second largest food consumption day, following only Thanksgiving Day. Are you a traditional wings and nacho person or do you go all out with your spread?
My family loves sliders. You can feed a crowd of rowdy sports fans with minimal effort. One of our family favorites is the King’s Hawaiian Ham and Swiss Slider. Be adventurous and try some out for yourself. There are so many different variations and they are super easy to make.
No party is complete with out chips and dip. There are some real elaborate spreads out there. If you have the time you can wow your guests with a guacamole football field.
Personally, I don’t have the patience to pipe the yard lines let alone create the olive helmeted players. I’ll stick to the bowl of chips and dip. One of the best dips I’ve had was at a Super Bowl party last year. One of our friends brought a Buffalo Chicken Dip. This stuff is addicting. She used a rotisserie chicken to cut down on prep time. If you want to try something different definitely check these out.
If you are still hung up on serving nachos how about trying a dessert nacho?
Chocolate covered strawberries are always a crowd pleaser not to mention they are a perfect football shape. Add a little white chocolate piping and you can carry the theme all the way to the goal! Check out these football themed desserts for the win.
No matter who you are cheering for we hope that you have a wonderful time with friends and family enjoying good food!
